A Bucyrus man was arrested Dec. 20 after leading officers on a chase.
Donald K. Jackson, 33, of Bucyrus, failed to stop on South Sam Houston Blvd. and continued on West Highway 17.
Officer Tim Ceplina said Jackson’s SUV attempted to pass or ram his patrol car several times.
Ceplina terminated the chase at Highways 17 and Z, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol took over as the lead pursuit vehicle.
Tpr. Curtis Hubbs and a Texas County Sheriff’s Department deputy followed the vehicle after it left a roadway and entered a field by crashing through a gate and eventually onto a logging road in the Success area.
Jackson is charged with resisting arrest and assault of a law enforcement officer. He posted $20,000 bond. Authorities said Jackson also faces other charges.
A Houston man is charged with second-degree assault after he is alleged to have swung a knife at a customer outside of a convenience store.
Robert Green, 24, of 9177 Haney Drive, was detained by two off-duty corrections officers at Corner Express on Dec. 20.
Jesse Houston, 20, of Houston, the victim, sustained lacerations in the altercation. The knife was described as having a 3 1/2 -inch blade and overall length of 8 1/4 inches.
Green is in jail on $20,000 bond. Green denied provoking the attack that he said was the result of an ongoing dispute.
