Icy conditions in Texas County late Thursday afternoon caused several accidents, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
The patrol said a 4:38 p.m. accident just north of Cabool on U.S. 63 occurred when a truck driven by George R. Fitzcharles, 35, of Cabool slowed for icy conditions on a bridge and was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by Loren H. Johnson, 65, of Cabool, said Cpl. Curtis Haden.
Johnson was taken to TCMH in a private vehicle with minor injuries.
Haden said another wreck also occurred when a vehicle driven by Cretia L. Ussery, 42, lost control at 4:10 p.m. on a U.S. 63 bridge at Highway PP. The vehicle struck a guardrail and ran off the roadway. Ussery, a Willow Springs resident, was taken to TCMH with minor injuries, Haden said.
An Eldorado, Kan., woman received moderate injuries when she lost control of her vehicle on an ice-covered bridge on U.S. 60 west of Cabool and struck it at 3:55 p.m.
Marie E. Sears, 49, was taken to TCMH by ambulance, said Tpr. Marty Wiseman of the patrol.
