A Wright County native will announce his intentions Saturday to seek the Democratic nomination for Missouri’s 8th Congressional District.
Joe Allen will host a kickoff party at 1 p.m. at Mansfield’s Lions Club.
A native of the 8th District and Wright County, Allen grew up in Mansfield and eventually settled in Forsyth, where he practices law at the Merrell Law Firm and owns the Tri-Lakes Traffic Center. Allen also serves as prosecuting attorney for the City of Rockaway Beach.
The incumbent for the office is Jo Ann Emerson, a Republican from Cape Girardeau.
