Merna M. Brown, 73, daughter of Loys and Imogene McKinney Daniel, was born Nov. 22, 1934, at Houston. She died Jan. 3, 2008, at Mercy Capitol in Des Moines, Iowa.
She married Thomas Brown of Mt. Vernon on May 24, 1952, They moved to Iowa in 1969. Mrs. Brown was a nurses and medical aide at Westbrook Aces in Gladbrook, Iowa, and Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents and one brother, Gerald Daniel.
Surviving are six children, Lois Keefer of Albion, Iowa, Edward Brown of Center Point, Iowa, Lynna Swailes of Muscatine, Iowa, Sally Nekola of Gilman, Iowa, and Peggy Brown Kinkennon and Michael Brown of Gladbrook, Iowa; one brother, Terry Daniel of Tama, Iowa; two sisters, Joyce Dunigan and Reta Ice of Houston; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside services were Jan. 7 at the Ozark Cemetery with Dennis Collins officiating under the direction of Evans Funeral Home.
