Two persons were injured New Year’s Day when their vehicle skidded out of control on snow-covered U.S. 63 about two miles north of Licking, said the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Tpr. Curtis Hubbs of the patrol said a 1985 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Megan R. Drew, 17, of Edgar Springs, ran off the road and struck an embankment. Drew and a passenger, William M. Callahan, 17, of Licking, were taken to Phelps County Regional Medical Center at Rolla. Both had minor injuries.

Hubbs said Drew was wearing a seat belt. The car sustained extensive damage.
