Texas County youth interested in showing cattle at the annual Texas County Fair may want to mark their calendar for Jan. 19.
That’s the day Randy Saner, an animal specialist with University Extension, will give tips on selecting animals for the fair. The 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. class is at the Victory Worship Center basement at Cabool on the U.S. 60 bypass.
Among the topics discussed:
*Animal selection – what works and doesn’t work.
*Feeding, care of animals and what to look for when buying.
*Preparing animals so it gains proper body weight.
Organizers ask that persons bring a sack lunch or money to purchase it; a staff member will order.
