Two area residents are the latest to file for the Houston board of education.

Garry Jensen declared his candidacy last week for one of three slots on the body that will be filled in April. Jo Holland also will seek a seat, she announced.

Dr. Tom Dunn filed re-election paperwork earlier. The other incumbents are Sharon Hart and Jim Cavanaugh.

The deadline to file for city, school, water district and the TCMH boards is Jan. 22.

Here is a rundown of the filings:

Raymondville board of education – Robert Ellsworth, has filed as have incumbents Don Schweighauser, James Richards and Joe Ceplina.

Success School – Robert Bates and Patricia Campbell Akers have filed. Incumbents Benny Bean, Regina Breedlove and Patricia Akers have not filed. Appointees Carl Shelton and Robert Bates also must seek election.

Plato Schools – Incumbents Doug Caldwell and Lori Crabtree have filed, as well as Shellene Beacham. The other incumbent is Virginia “Fry” Burcham.

Village of Plato – Incumbents Bobby Biram and Hal Dandridge have filed.

Village of Raymondville – Gene DeWitt and Don Barton Jr. have re-filed.

City of Houston – incumbents Joe Honeycutt, Ward I; Joyce Campbell, Ward II; and Don Romines, Ward III, are seeking re-election.

TCMH board – Incumbent Mark Forbes and Mattie Woods.
