Brian Kim, M.D., and Donald Wantuck, M.D., both of the Chest and Sleep Institute of Springfield, are providing consultation services at Texas County Memorial Hospital.

Kim and Wantuck specialize in respiratory illnesses such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, pneumonia, lung disease and lung cancer and sleep medicine treating disorders such as obstructive sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia and excessive daytime sleepiness. The physicians also do procedures for inpatients and outpatients such as bronchoscopy, pleural biopsy and pulmonary function test.

Kim and Wanuck will also provide physician services needed to conduct sleep studies at TCMH, a new service which will be offered this spring.

Kim is board certified in internal medicine, pulmonary disease, critical care and sleep medicine. He is a fellow of the American College of Chest Physicians and a member of the American Thoracic Society. He attended medical school at Seoul National University in Seoul, Korea, was a resident at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center in Youngtown, Ohio, and St. Joseph University Hospital in Pontiac, Mich., and did fellowship training in pulmonology at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.

Wantuck, a board certified in internal medicine, is a member of the American College of Physicians, the American Medical Association and the Missouri State Medical Association. He attended medical school at the University of Missouri, interned at Wilford Hall U.S. Air Force Hospital at Lackland Air Force Base in Texas, was a resident and did fellowship training in pulmonology at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. He is a former chief of staff at St. John’s Hospital.

Kim and Wantuck see patients at TCMH the fourth Monday of every month in the outpatient clinic located near the front lobby of the hospital. Appointments to see Kim or Wantuck in Houston are being made through their office in Springfield at 417-886-2747.
