Missourians who have yet to vote, according to weather experts, should not wait for the skies to clear up.
Severe thunderstorms capable of producing tornadoes are expected to start developing this afternoon into early evening, said National Weather Service meteorologist Steve Lindenberg.
At risk areas for tornadic activity are locations south and east of a line from Branson to Salem, Lindenberg said.
High winds and hail measuring the size of a quarter or larger are possible, he added.
Some storms could produce heavy rain this afternoon, and winds will pick up to about 21 mph this evening, according to the National Weather Service Web site at about noon.
Lindenberg said any snow worth measuring is unlikely this evening, although some flurries are possible.
