Texas County Democrats will meet Feb. 28 for a mass meeting as part of a delegate selection process.
The meeting begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Houston Rural Fire Association meeting room on Walnut Street. Anyone who comes to the meeting after that time will be admitted as an observer, but may not participate in the caucuses.
The primary purpose of the meeting is to elect delegates and alternates to attend the State Democratic Convention and the 8th Congressional District Convention. Delegates to the National Democratic Convention in Denver will be elected at the district meeting.
The Missouri meeting is May 9-10 in Columbia and the 8th Congressional District Convention is March 27 at Van Buren.
Persons participating in the local mass meeting must be at least 18, a permanent resident and registered voter in Texas County, a member of the Democratic Party [by signed declaration], did not participate in the presidential party of any other political party and voted on Feb. 5.
