The City of Houston said Friday morning that cleanup from an ice storm last month is about half completed.

A crew of five continues to work to cut up debris using a chipper. Additionally, a front-end loader and dump truck crew is picking up bigger items. The 50 percent figure includes tree limbs that initially were pulled to the street for chipping. That does not include items pulled up recently.

City Administrator Larry Sutton said the storm cleanup crew is asking that residents place the “butt-end” of the limbs facing the street. That will speed up efforts, the crew said.
