The Texas County Memorial Hospital Healthcare Foundation recently received a $500 “Good Neighbor” grant from State Farm Insurance.

The grant was given to the foundation on behalf of Jim Feighery, former State Farm Insurance agent in Houston, in recognition of the volunteer work he has done on behalf of the foundation. This is the second year Feighery’s efforts have provided the funding to the healthcare foundation.

Until January of this year, Feighery served as chair of the TCMH Healthcare Foundation board. He received volunteer credit for the more than 40 hours he put in attending meetings and participating in events on behalf of the foundation in 2007.

State Farm awards $500 grants on behalf of eligible associates, agents or retirees that volunteer for an eligible nonprofit organization.

Jay Gentry, director of the TCMH Healthcare Foundation, received the grant check on behalf of the foundation.

“We are grateful for the volunteer hours Jim has given to the foundation,” Gentry said. “Without volunteers like Jim and the other foundation board members, the foundation would not be able to accomplish its goals.”

The TCMH Healthcare Foundation is the non-profit organizational arm of the hospital that develops relationships and financial resources to support the healthcare programs, projects and services of the hospital. The Good Neighbor grant funds will be used to support community healthcare needs recognized by the foundation.
