A grass fire sends smoke into the air in the north part of Houston on Saturday. Firemen from several departments were responding to calls again on Sunday.

Volunteers from Roby, Raymondville, Licking and Houston were fighting grass fires again in the county on Sunday.

Raymondville and Licking departments were on East Highway 32 at Licking, while Roby’s department was called to a Highway BB fire near the Big Piney River. Later, Houston’s Rural Fire Department was called to assist.

Firemen from several departments were called Saturday to grass, brush fires in the county.

Dry conditions, combined with wind, fueled blazes at Houston, Roby and Licking.
