Barbara Geraldine Christeson, 79, daughter of Coval and Winifred Higgins Coatney, was born Feb. 3, 1929. She died April 19, 2008, at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
Mrs. Christeson lived in the Elk Creek and Tyrone communities most of her life.
She married Carl Christeson Oct. 2, 1948. They had one son.
She was dedicated to her family, taking care of her son. She loved working in her flower beds and attending Ozark Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband and son, Roy Dale Christeson.
Surviving are two brothers, Lawrence Coatney of Caldwell, Idaho, and Jerry Coatney of Chouteau, Okla.; one sister, Doris Lankford of Elk Creek; and neighbor’s children she adopted as grandchildren, Madeline Ramirez, Emily Ramirez and Amy Smith.
Services were April 23 at the Elliott-Gentry-Carder Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Bill Jetton officiating. Burial was in the New Hope Cemetery.
