Houston’s Michael Buckner was awarded for his standout senior season with an invitation to the third annual Grizzly All-Star Basketball Classic.
The boys’ game begins at 7 p.m. Saturday at the West Plains Civic Center.
Buckner was the top player for a Houston team that made great strides under first-year coach Wayne Jessen. Buckner, who set the single-season school record for 3-pointers his junior year, averaged about 15 points, three steals and three assists per game.
Buckner, who was previously named to the All-SCA second team, will play for the “dark team.” His teammates will be Lane Brewer, Alton; Patrick Jesse, Cabool; Art Brewer, Eminence; Denny Revell, Fordland; Travis Branstetter, Hartville; De’Andre Peterson, Lesterville; Dustin Forrest, Norwood; Jordan Fielding, Springfield Hillcrest; Taylor Sirois, Salem.; and Josh Kraus, Jacob Capeder and Jacob Berger, all of Willow Springs.
Tickets for the event will be sold at the door. There are no advance ticket sales.
