Jeff Gettys figures to play a big role at Saturday’s annual Black and Gold Scrimmage.
Gettys, who was named last year’s “walk-on of the year,” is currently listed at second on
MU’s depth chart at weakside linebacker. He should get plenty of action at MU’s nationally-televised scrimmage on ESPNU.
Gettys, who changed him uniform number from 53 to 35, continues to start on the kickoff return team. He’s also been working with the field goal unit.
Gates open at 11 a.m. Saturday, and the scrimmage begins at 1 p.m. Admission is $3 or three canned food items. The first 5,000 fans will receive a free T-shirt.
