Houston seventh grader Drake Bell won the 100-meter dash and long jump at the week’s season-opening middle school track meet at Mountain View.
Bell won the 100 in 12.97 and the long jump with a leap of 15-1. He was also on the 400 relay team with Sean Murphy, Taylor Walster and Austin Bathon that finished first in 58.87.
Alexa Ichord had a pair of first-place finishes for the seventh grade girls. She won the 200 in 30.89 and leaped 26 feet in the triple jump.
The 1600-meter relay team of Reanna Craig, Kaighan Hunninghake, Kayla Herndon and Hayley Kelley finished first.
Carmen Floyd led the eighth grade girls with a first-place finish in the 100 (14.90), second in the high jump (4-2) and third in the 75 hurdles (15.21).
Rodney Preheim’s toss of 83-11 placed second in the discus to lead the eighth grade boys.
