Plato Student To Travel to Presidential Inauguration

Plato sixth grader Kelsey Leitner has been invited to attend the Junior Presidential Youth Inaugural Conference and witness the 56th inauguration of the president and vice president in Washington, D.C.

Leitner, 12, was nominated for the event by her teachers based on grades, attitude and maturity. She attended the conference last year and visited the White House, Washington Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, Harper’s Ferry, Liberty Bell and Maryland Space Center.

While in Washington for the inauguration, Leitner will attend the Gala Inaugural Ball and listen to keynote speaker Lance Armstrong during her five-day trip.

Leitner, who has lived in Germany, Egypt and Washington before moving to Missouri, lives with her mother, stepfather and brother. She is a former Girl Scout and plays the violin.

Anyone wishing to make donations or sponsor Leitner should contact Terri Price at 417-458-1666.
