Summer school dates for Houston students were announced Friday.

Elementary pupils will attend May 27 to June 30. Activities range from reading to math facts. Library, computer and swimming opportunities are available.

Middle school teachers are offering several opportunities:

*How to have a successful yard sale (math skills).

*Acting, as well as being a radio commentator.

*How to feed your brain utilizing puzzles.

*How did World War II affect you?

*Would you like to embark on a journey to knighthood?

*Outside activities ranging from softball and kickball to sand volleyball and basketball.

*How would you like to be on a game show – Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune and others – and/or create your own middle school book club?

There will be incentives for student attendance and swimming opportunities.

Credit recovery also will be offered for high school students needing an extra boost in various subjects. An algebra class offering a review of basic concepts also will be offered. Middle school and high school dates are May 29 to June 27.

Breakfast and lunch is free for all students. Limited transportation is provided.
