Donald W. Nash’s arrest came Friday near the small town of Beaufort in Franklin County.
He lived on Highway 185 north of Highway 50.
The town gained national media attention when a 13-year-old boy was kidnapped in early 2007, and Ben Ownsby was later found with another boy in Kirkwood. A suspect was arrested.
Locals in the rural area say they often saw Nash at the local gasoline station with a woman, who is no longer at their Highway 185 home. In court on Monday, he was seen blowing kisses to a woman in court.
Law enforcement say they’ve never had contact with the man who at one time lived at Salem. He was questioned at the time of the initial investigation.
