Bernal Chester Dutcher, 82, son of Bernal Sr. and Mae Van Winkle Dutcher, was born May 31, 1926, at the family home at Newark, Ohio. He died May 23, 2008, at Phelps County Regional Medical Center at Rolla.
He married Marie Dufrenne Dec. 23, 1979. They had five children.
Mr. Dutcher served in the U.S. Navy from Sept. 25, 1950, to June 23, 1952.
He was a construction manager, traveling and living in many countries.
He and his wife loved to travel in their motor home throughout the U.S.
He enjoyed golf, traveling, piloting, sailing, barbecuing and farming.
He was active in the Bethel Community Church at Summersville, where he was the youth Sunday School teacher.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Surviving are his wife; children, David, Karen, Doug, Maggie and Kimberly; his sister, Carol Jean; and 11 grandchildren.
Memorial services were May 25 at Bethel Community Church at Summersville with the Rev. Steve Steelman officiating under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home.
