Debbie Bland of Bucyrus was recently named Texas County Memorial Hospital’s April employee of the month.
An employee of TCMH for five years, Bland is known for the warm and caring way she takes care of patients. She is a registered nurse in the emergency department.
“Debbie goes the extra mile to provide the very best care for her patients,” said Charolette Horn, emergency department director at TCMH. “She has the customer service skills that keep patients informed and at ease while they are in the emergency room.”
Horn noted that during staff shortages Bland has covered extra day and night shifts to keep the department fully staffed, “working well as a team member no matter who she’s working with.”
As employee of the month, Bland received a certificate honoring her achievement; a pin; $100 cash; a special parking place in the TCMH lot; one day of paid vacation; a membership in the TCMH Fitness Center; a $50 gift card; a gift certificate to D&L Florist and CD of the month from KUNQ.
A reception is planned at the hospital in honor of Bland. She is eligible for the 2008 TCMH employee of the year award.
