Emergency Personnel Receive Training

Air Evac Lifeteam recently visited Texas County EMS at the Houston Fire Department to conduct a Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) course.

“PHTLS courses are nationally recognized continuing education programs for pre-hospital emergency healthcare professionals that bring the care of the trauma patient into a single focus,” said Air Evac flight paramedic and course instructor Daniel Watkins. “Conducting this type of class helps ensure every responder at the scene of a medical emergency has the tools he or she needs to provide the best care possible for patients.”

Air Evac Lifeteam offers outreach education classes free to hospitals and emergency service agencies in the areas in which they serve.

“These classes give us opportunities to share knowledge, practice skills and learn from each other,” Joy Miller, flight paramedic, added. “This is just one example of the way we to work together to provide quality medical care for our patients,”

Air Evac Lifeteam, an air ambulance service that provides emergency healthcare and rapid medical transport to rural communities throughout the central United States, routinely provides training for emergency service agencies in the areas they serve. The company operates 75 air ambulance bases in 12 states.
