Counter Tops LLC received the first of three large machines in their new facilities on Industrial Drive in Houston today. The machine that arrived is completely computerized and will make it easier to cut countertop patterns.
The new machine cost roughly $300,000 and with two other pieces of equipment costing right around the same price. One of them will be used to cut marble while the other is large enough to span about 300 feet across the new building, which is situated at the Houston Industrial Park off West Highway 17. The company recently announced plans to occupy the 30,000 square foot building that was constructed by the Houston Industrial Development Authority.
James Drewel Jr. of Counter Tops LLC said he hopes to be moved into the new facility by the early part of June when the additional machines are set to arrive.
The company will initially hire about 15 workers to train on the new machines and hopes to start production no later than the end of July. Drewel said applications for employment are available at the Houston Area Chamber of Commerce office on South Sam Houston Blvd.
