The Houston Education Foundation announced an anonymous donor has made two significant gifts to the organization.
A $10,000 gift will go toward the Houston Educational Foundation’s endowment fund and a gift of $2,990 will go to the foundation’s capacity building fund.
Houston Schools Superintendent Clinton Waters, who handled the anonymous transaction, presented the check to Houston Education Foundation members.
The funds were donated to help establish the Houston Education Foundation and support its fund-raising efforts. The foundation is an independent community non-profit organization that supports the work of the Houston R-I public school’s mission of providing students with a first-rate education and the opportunity to realize their full potential.
The Houston Education Foundation’s organizational capacity fund was established to finance its operational cost and programs. Its endowment fund was established to support the long-term growth of the foundation.
