One person was injured early this morning when tractor units collided about four miles north of Licking on U.S. 63, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.
Tpr. Curtis Hubbs said a southbound 2004 Peterbilt tractor driven by Samuel D. Gale, 58, of Licking, was slowing to make a left turn onto a county road when a tractor-trailer unit attempted to overtake it, struck it on the passenger’s side, ran off the road and overturned. The other driver was James W. Sweet, 53, of Florence. His tractor-trailer unit was totaled, the trooper said.
Hubbs said Sweet was taken to Texas County Memorial Hospital with moderate injuries.
