A 16-year-old boy faces punishment from juvenile authorities after he tested nearly twice the legal limit for alcohol.

Houston police made a stop at West Highway 17 and Airport Road on May 12 and found the boy in an intoxicated state. He tested .153 – the legal limit for someone age 21 is .08. The boy was cited with operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent matter, failing to yield to an emergency vehicle, having no operator’s license and DWI. The suspect was referred to juvenile authorities.

In other matters, police:

-Investigated an accident that occurred when a city bus driver, Rebecca A. Sawyer, 52, of 116 N. Grand, struck a parked car owned by Reese A. Bucher, 17416 Oakwood. The bus was making a stop as part of the meals on wheels program. Bucher was a volunteer on the bus at the time of the accident, police said.

-Charged Devin J. Carter, 20, 721 Dooley St., with operating a motor vehicle while operator’s license revoked.

-Cited Lawrence J. Pate, 34, 501 Peabody St., Cabool, with failing to exhibit an insurance identification card on May 17.

-Charged Taylor A.D. Spencer, 18, of Dexter, with possession of drug paraphernalia on May 17.

-Arrested Kandice R. Pearson, 21, of 712 N. Grand Ave., with failure to appear on a charge for failing to register a motor vehicle. She posted $500 bond on May 16.
