Texas County ranked second in the state after two weeks of the spring turkey hunting season.
The Missouri Department of Conservation said 656 birds were killed. That’s up about 20 from last year.
The count was: adult gobblers, 504; bearded hens, 10; and juvenile birds, 142.
Statewide, 35,452 were killed.
Leading in the state is Franklin County with 683.
