A man suspected in the assault of Missouri State Highway Patrol officer earlier this year in Texas County escaped from the Howell County Jail on Tuesday and was recaptured early Wednesday morning in West Plains.
Larry P. Brashers, 21, was one of three who went through the jail’s roof and escaped at about 10 a.m.
Brashers and another inmate were recaptured without incident at about midnight as they were using a payphone at a convenience store on Preacher Roe Boulevard, said Howell County Sheriff Robbie Crites.
A third escapee was found at about 5:30 a.m. at a Mountain View apartment. An 18-year-old woman also was taken into custody.
