University Extension Nutrition Program Associate Dana McGuire received the Mentoring Award at the recent Family Nutrition Program and 4-H Youth Development Conference in Columbia. It is given to associates who display work ethics that go above and beyond the call of duty to mentor others to ensure their success.
Cammie Younger, University Extension county program director, says McGuire is always ready to assist her co-workers, and her positive attitude makes her well deserving of the award. McGuire delivered the organization’s Family Nutrition Program to 1,783 students and the adults who care for them last year. Younger said she is always conscious of the need to educate children and all citizens about better food choices and increased physical activity.
