Montauk State Park near Salem is opening its gates to the public on Saturday, June 7. The Missouri Department of Natural Resources will host an open house that will last from 8 to shortly after 9 p.m. in the outdoor amphitheatre.
The meeting is part of an ongoing effort by DNR to ensure that citizens have input on facilities and services offered at Missouri’s state parks.
Recent improvements to the trout stream habitat will be highlighted during the informal meeting where guests will be invited to asks questions about the park’s future plans, goals and objectives.
In the event of rain, the meeting will be moved to the J. Ben Searcy Building across the road from the park’s main lodge.
