A man recently released from the Tennessee State Penitentiary was arrested this week and charged with stealing about $25,000 worth of jewelry from a Texas County home.
Texas County Sheriff Carl Watson said Lloyd Ray Hill, 49, is suspected of swiping the jewelry July 15 from a residence southwest of Houston on Highway YY.
Hill, who has ties to the county, is being held in the Texas County Jail with a $100,000 bond.
“The best we can determine, he acted alone in the burglary,” Watson said.
Watson said part of the jewelry had been recovered and that the investigation continues.
