Frances Bobe, 60, daughter of Pat and Carmela Espisito Pennino, was born Dec. 3, 1947, in South Brooklyn, N.Y. She died July 28, 2008, at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.
She grew up in Bayridge Brooklyn and moved to Houston, where she and her husband, Jerry, lived for the last 12 years.
She received Christ as Lord and Savior in her 20s and was involved with Newborns in Need. She loved caring for the tiny babies, supplying the articles they needed and letting their families know there were those who loved them and were concerned about them. This was an important part of her life, giving to those who were in need.
She loved the simple things: shopping at Wal-Mart, stopping at Sonic for a java chiller, collecting antiques at flea markets and caring for her cats and dogs.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Surviving are her husband; son, Jerry Jr.; three daughters, Debbi McKeon, Maria Ryan and Cindy Westlund; sister, Pat; and eight grandchildren.
Services are 11 o’clock today (Thursday) at the Evans Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Fred Bobe officiating. Burial is in the Pine Lawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
