Thirty-three farmers attended a grazing school July 16-18 in Texas County.
Area agriculture specialists made presentations related to management of pastures, including soil fertility, matching livestock and forage, nutrition and forage quality, economics of management intensive grazing, as well as layout and design.
Two days of the class included on-farm instruction where participants saw operating grazing systems.
One day included an on-farm exercise where attendees designed a working grazing system and shared their ideas with the class.
Participation in the program allows those attending to be eligible in cost-share practices.
