John Richard Bradford, 75, son of John A. Bradford and Lola G. Patterson Bradford, was born Oct. 24, 1932, in the Clear Springs community. He died July 11, 2008, at Mountain View Health Care.

Mr. Bradford served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from November 1952 to November 1954.

He married Barbara Pittman April 25, 2008, at Mountain View.

Mr. Bradford lived and worked in Laramie, Wyo., for many years where he was a crane operator. He moved to Kansas City, where he was a welder for Shippers Car Line. After his retirement, he moved to Willow Springs.

While in Kansas City, he was a member of the Moose Lodge and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He loved to hunt and was baptized at an early age. He and his wife attended the Church of Christ in Mountain View.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Dudley; and three sisters, Ruth Bradford, Ruby Miller and Bonnie Cox.

Surviving are his wife of Mountain View; two daughters, Barbie Ann Shepard of Riverton, Wyo., and Kathy Ramsey of Cheyenne, Wyo.; two stepdaughters, Debbie Tranbarger and Bobbie Wills of Mountain View; four brothers, Everett Bradford of Des Moines, Iowa, Earl Bradford of Independence, Jack Bradford of Raymondville and Joe Bradford of Willow Springs; three sisters, Betty Murfin of Willow Springs, Peggy Nelson of Blue Springs and Lola Brunk of Independence; three grandsons, three step-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren.

Services were July 14 at the Clear Springs Church with the Rev. Brad Nelson officiating. Burial with full military rites was in the Clear Springs Cemetery under the direction of Bradford Funeral Home of Summersville.
