Stolen farm equipment from two Missouri counties was recovered Monday at a Mountain Grove man’s property.
Texas County Sheriff Carl Watson said his department was alerted to Larry E. Amos’ farm just inside the county line by the Mountain Grove Police Department, which had arrested Amos on unrelated charges.
Watson said his department recovered a 2001 John Deere backhoe swiped April 10 from Warren County. It was valued at $48,000. Officers also found a 1989 flatbed, gooseneck trailer stolen March 4 from Lincoln County worth $6,500.
Amos, 57, is incarcerated at the Mountain Grove jail on felony theft and methamphetamine charges. He will be charged with possession of stolen property in Texas County, Watson said.
