Pavilion for Plato School District

A new pavilion has been constructed on the Plato School District campus thanks to the efforts of several persons and organizations.

The district received a $5,000 grant from Lowe’s Home Improvement that allowed for work to begin on the project. The Plato High School Student Council provided funding for the agriculture construction class to build tables. The Roby Lions Club also pitched in on the pavilion, which has blue metal roof. Businesses also offered a hand.

School officials said the structure, which covers about 1,200 square feet, will have several uses: During early morning hours it will allow students to read outside. The PTO will use it during its annual carnival and Girl Scouts will hold meetings there.
