The next phase of a project to extend Thomasville Road in Houston – applying a rock base – could begin later this week. Gaines Construction Co. of Rolla is the contractor for the excavation work totaling about $224,200. Another part of the bid includes an initial two-inch overlay of asphalt costing $89,688.
Additional expenses include installation of some concrete culverts and some water line changes. The city recently okayed a bid of about $24,600 for concrete culverts needed.
Randy Kell of Raymondville is a subcontractor. The road will connect with Holder Drive and create a new street north of Orscheln Farm and Home.
