Mustangs line the parking lot of Romines Motor Co. Inc., a Ford dealership for the last 75 years. The Houston firm celebrated its anniversary with a two-day event on South U.S. 63.

One of Houston’s oldest businesses concluded a two-day celebration of its 75th anniversary with a Mustang car show Saturday on South Sam Houston Blvd.

Romines Motor Co. Inc. began the commemoration Friday to highlight the founding of the business by Glenn Romines Sr. Today, his three sons, Glenn, Robert and Don, operate the family business that moved from the downtown business district to busy U.S. 63 in the mid-1980s.

Kevin Klossner, regional sales manager for Ford Motor Co., on Friday presented the family with a plaque that recognized the partnership of the two entities. Klossner highlighted the firm’s long relationship with the dealership and its importance to the community. Refreshments were served to the public, former employees and the current staff.

Nearby, displays highlighted the firm’s history in photographs and newspaper clippings.

On Saturday, dozens of Mustangs lined the parking lot of the dealership for a show. Nearby, members of The Animal Shelter of Texas County sold food items. The local FFA chapter manned a dunking booth.
