University Extension will host a digital video project at the Plato High School computer lab July 25-27. The event is free and open to all youth ages 13-16.

3,2,1…Action is a team of youth and adults from Fort Leonard Wood and surrounding counties that is coming together to learn new skills and create public service announcements about Army youth programs, 4-H and life as a military kid. Participants will come from the active duty Army, National Guard, reserves and community and must be interested in learning about information technology to create digital videos.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn marketable technology skills, gain leadership skills, experience cutting-edge technology (digital video editing, Pinnacle, etc.), gain access to the latest technology tools and develop a public service announcement using technology. Specific skill sets will be taught such as developing concepts to communicate key messages, storyboarding, using digital video cameras, learning filming techniques and learning video editing software.

Youth will be asked to complete a short application to sign up for this event. The deadline for applications is July 14. Persons can may pick up an application from Betty Baney in the Texas County Extension Office or call her at 417-967-4545.
