The Community Blood Center of the Ozarks will host a blood drive from 11:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at Houston Wal-Mart Supercenter.
CBCO has issued a code yellow alert for Type B Negative and O Positive blood. There is less than a two-day supply of those blood types on hospital shelves. It takes more than 275 donations each year to meet the needs of patients in 36 area hospitals.
Eligibility requirements include weighing at least 110 pounds, being in general good health and present ID.
