The Houston Area Chamber of Commerce announced plans Monday to hold a demolition derby on Saturday, Nov. 1.
Proceeds from the event will be used to make improvements at the fairgrounds on North U.S. 63.
The derby, which begins at 7 p.m., will feature regular stock cars and something new, a half-ton pickup derby.
An additional $1,000 in prize money will be awarded to the Ford pickup finishing the highest.
