Henry Truman Croft, 80, son of Ward and Alma Ford Croft, was born in 1927 at Sidney, Ark. He died Aug. 22, 2008, at his home at Plato.
He was a retired union iron worker as a journeyman rodman. He spent much of his early years farming. He was an avid horse enthusiast and well-known ferrier. He enjoyed sharing his experiences and knowledge with others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Spellman Croft; an infant sister, Vera Mae Croft; an infant son, James Webster Croft; and a granddaughter.
Surviving are his wife, Vearl of Plato; five children, Linda Miller of Carbondale, Ill., Sue Rasgaitis and Benjamin L. Croft of Plato, Renee Minkus of Lebanon and Mayo Fix of Kansasville, Wis.; four sisters, Bernell Cole, Janta Downing and Billie Horn Steele of Sidney, Ark., and Kay Goodman of Batesville, Ark.; nine grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 25 at Qualls Funeral Home at Cave City, Ark., with Alvin Wyles officiating. Burial was in the Yeager Cemetery at Evening Shade, Ark. Local arrangements were under the direction of Fox Funeral Home of Licking.
