Crews began asphalt pavement repairs Monday on Highway 181 in Texas County. The 10-mile project extends from the Cabool city limits to Highway 76, according to the Missouri Department of Transportation.
Weather permitting, work hours are scheduled from 6:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily. The project is expected to be complete by the end of the day Thursday, Aug. 7.
According to MoDOT Regional Maintenance Supervisor Rich Elijah, this work will prepare the route for a chip seal operation, which is expected to occur in the coming weeks. Elijah said while repair work is under way, work zone signage and flag persons will be present to warn motorists.
MoDOT asks that motorists exercise caution in the area. Workers and equipment will be located directly on the roadway and minimal delays should be expected.
