Lillie Mabel Williams, 85, daughter of Emmet and Ruth Buckner, was born Sept. 1, 1922, She died Aug. 6, 2008, at Houston House Nursing Center.

She married Thomas Lige Williams Oct. 31, 1939. They had four daughters.

Mrs. Williams enjoyed being a resident at Houston House, playing bingo and going to crafts. She considered the people at Houston House her second family and looked forward to visits from David and Darlene Gourley.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; three brothers, Cecil, Alvin and Charles Eugene Buckner; and a grandson.

Surviving are her children, Carol Romig of Syracuse, Elaine Davis of Brazoria, Texas, Mabel Forrest of Ashland and Charlcie Walberg of Licking; sisters, Maxine Gough, Marie Thomas and Helen Smith of Sullivan and Laverne Sneed of Troy; brothers, Leonard Buckner of St. Charles, Kenneth Buckner of Overland and Lloyd Buckner of Rolla; seven grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Services were Aug. 9 at the Fox Funeral Home Chapel with Larry Tubbs officiating. Burial was in the Mitchell Cemetery.
