Mable Marie Bradway Sykes, 75, daughter of Asa Eugene Bradway and Millie Myrtle Morton Bradway, was born Aug. 12, 1933, at Manzanola, Colo. She died Aug. 19, 2008, at her home at Summersville.
She married William Thurman Sykes May 29, 1950. They had five children.
Mrs. Sykes accepted Christ as her personal savior in 1976 and attended church as long as her health permitted.
She loved to travel, making several trips to Colorado and surrounding states. She raised a big garden and liked to can the produce.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Benjamin and Marion Bradway; and one sister, Juanita Crabtree.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years; two daughters, Sharon Odom and Rhonda Holden of Summersville; three sons, Gary Sykes of Winfield, Terry Sykes of Wentzville and Randy Sykes of West Plains; two sisters, Laverne Crocker of Summersville and Evelyn Hart of Maryland Heights; 14 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.
Services were Aug. 22 at the Bradford Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Steelman officiating. Burial was in the Antioch Cemetery.
