A Licking man received serious injuries Monday night in a Dent County crash as his truck ran off Highway 32 west of Salem, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

Tommy D. Matchell was the driver of the 1997 Ford F-150 truck that later overturned several times and threw a passenger, Kalyn J. Matchell, 16, who was flown with serious injuries to St. John’s Hospital in St. Louis, the patrol said.

The driver had serious injuries and was transported to a Salem hospital. A passenger, Wayne Steffens, 58, sustained serious injuries and was flown to University Hospital and Clinics in Columbia. Another passenger, Tristan A. Matchell, 11, had moderate injuries and was the only person wearing a seat belt, the patrol said. He was taken to a Salem hospital.

Updated at 4:34 p.m. from a call to the Herald: Tommy Matchell was taken to St. John’s trauma center in St. Louis and daughter, Kalyn, transferred to Children’s Hospital in St. Louis. Tristen was treated and released.
