About 800 people attended the Raymondville Volunteer Fire Department’s fifth annual truck pull Saturday.
Spectators watched two-wheel modified, diesel classes, pro street, modified 4×4 and home town classes attempt to pull the Ol’ Busch Sled from Lorraine, Ill.
The event, which has grown exponentially, began in 2004.
“Although attendance was down for the event, we hope everyone who attended enjoyed the show and is looking forward to coming back again next year,” said organizer Guy Ceplina.
The show began with the Big Country 99 Big Hiney Hauler, which made a not-so-believable full pull, but did raise a $104 donation for the Missouri Burn Camp at Lake of the Ozarks. The effort was in conjunction with the fire department’s raffle of a power wheels toy truck that raised $754. Jerry Menz of Raymondville was the winner.
