Drake Bell and Weston Walker had rushing touchdowns for Houston’s eighth grade football team in a 44-14 loss Thursday at Thayer.

Bell led the Tigers with 58 yards on seven carries. He was also 2-of-2 passing for 32 yards.

Walker gained 36 yards on 11 carries and also had 22 yards receiving. He was 4-of-8 passing for 38 yards.

Bell had a rushing score in the first quarter and Walker added the two-point conversion run for the Tigers, who trailed 16-8 at the half. Walker had a rushing score in the third quarter. The conversion attempt failed.

Austin Bathon had 17 receiving yards for the Tigers, and Taylor Walser added 12.

SEVENTH FOOTBALL: The seventh grade football team lost its season opener 36-0 at Thayer.
