Missouri roads are safer, thanks to law enforcement cracking down on impaired drivers and working to make sure motorists think twice about traffic safety.
The Licking Police Department participated in the “You Drink and Drive. You Lose” crackdown conducted Aug. 15 – Sept. 1. During the enforcement effort, officers issued a total of 24 citations and warnings including two arrests for driving while intoxicated.
“When we remove a drunk driver from the roads, we’re all safer,” said Chief Scott Lindsey. “Law enforcement will continue to encourage drivers to make a simple, smart choice to drive sober.”
Funding for this effort was provided through a grant from the Missouri Department of Transportation’s highway safety division in cooperation with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Missouri Safety Center.
